Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern access to the MadnessMU website, game servers, accounts, community features, and related services (together, the "Service"). By registering, signing in, playing, or making a payment, you agree to these Terms and the linked Privacy and Refund Policies.

1. Independent community server

MadnessMU is an independently operated, unofficial MU Online community server. It is not connected with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or operated by Webzen Inc. or any of its affiliates. MU Online, Webzen, and related names, artwork, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. No ownership or official partnership is claimed.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be legally able to accept these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian must approve your use of the Service and any payment.
• You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login details secure.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless you promptly report unauthorized access.
• Accounts, characters, items, and virtual currency may not be sold or exchanged for real money unless MadnessMU expressly provides and authorizes that feature.

3. Fair-play rules

You must not cheat, exploit bugs, automate gameplay without permission, attack or disrupt the Service, evade sanctions, impersonate staff, scam other players, distribute malicious material, or harass others. You must report serious exploits privately and must not use or share them. Additional posted game and community rules form part of these Terms.

4. Virtual items and service changes

Characters, CashPoints, items, rankings, and other virtual benefits are licensed features of the Service, not personal property or legal tender. They have no guaranteed cash value and cannot be redeemed for money. To operate and balance the server, MadnessMU may modify rates, rewards, items, features, events, or account data and may perform maintenance, rollbacks, wipes, or resets when reasonably necessary. Nothing in this section removes rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

5. Voluntary support payments

Payments described as donations are made voluntarily at the player's choice to support server hosting, development, security, and community operations. Where CashPoints or another virtual benefit is offered, it is normally credited after the payment provider confirms the transaction. The amount, currency, and benefit are shown before payment. Payments and virtual benefits are governed by the Refund Policy.

6. Moderation and account action

MadnessMU may warn, mute, restrict, suspend, or permanently close an account when there is reasonable evidence of a rule violation, security risk, payment fraud, abuse, or harm to the Service or its community. Losing access because of an account sanction does not automatically create a right to a refund. You may contact support to request a review.

7. Availability and disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not promise uninterrupted access, permanent preservation of game data, or freedom from every defect. Scheduled or emergency maintenance, third-party outages, attacks, software faults, or closure of the Service may affect availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MadnessMU is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the Service.

8. Privacy and security

Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. You must not attempt to obtain another player's personal information or compromise another account.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the Service, law, or operating practices change. Material changes will be announced through the website or an appropriate community channel. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the Service.

10. Contact and mandatory rights

Questions, complaints, account appeals, and legal requests may be submitted through the contact page. These Terms do not exclude or limit consumer, privacy, or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived in your country.
